Baby Shower

Some ladies from my ward were nice enough to throw me a shower, this past Tuesday. It has taken me a few days to post about it because 1) My work came in for the week 2) I am packing and cleaning 3) I am SOOO tired! Like all the sudden I feel how I did the first few weeks of being pregnant. Anyways, the shower was so fun. There are only a couple pictures I wanted to post because I have a double chin in pretty much all of the other ones. Not cute. But I did get such cute clothes and blankets. I am definitely set now! And I can't wait to dress this little girl!

We played one game and it was such a cute idea. Everyone got to look at this tray for 15 seconds, and then whoever remembered the most got a bag of M&M's. And then, lucky ME..I got ALL the adorable things on the tray. I LOVE the shoes!

My Grandma made me a blanket with matching burp clothes. It is so cute because it is pink plaid on one side, and the other side is a sports pattern, and it says GIRL POWER all over it. I love it! It is perfect. Casey was very happy about it! And of course the boys thought it was so cool. My Grandma also got me the cutest blessing shoes and adorable clothes!

One of the many cute outfits my Mom sent. She knows my taste very well! I wish she could have been there, but I am excited to see her soon.

Roomies! These are my college roomates. First is Maria, who is from Cinncinatti, but she married a boy from Colorado Springs! He got accepted to Dental School in Aurora, so they live close now. She has an adorable little girl. Nikki is from Colorado, and she lives here with her hubby and two cute kids. And of course, Crystal my sister-in-law. REALLY glad she was my roomate! :)

My sister-in-law Lindsey, eating some yummy cheesecake. And my mother-in-law Helen. She got me such cute outfits! And a really cute crib mobile and play mat. It was great having them there.

It was a fun night and I got a vanful of girly things! Now I just need her here...but hopefully she will hold off just enough for us to get moved! And then I can't wait to meet her! Vote on which name you like better. There is a poll on the right side of the blog.

Picture Tag

Thanks Katie!
The rules: Go to your picture files. Pick the 4th file, and the fourth picture in it (NO CHEATING). Tell a little bit about the picture. Tag 4 friends. Post.

Okay, so this was seriously the picture. I didn't cheat. This is Little Creek. It is the mountain on my husband's grandparents ranch. It is beautiful, and very meaningful to us because it is where Casey asked me to marry him! Not at the bottom, not half way up, but at the VERY TOP! That is a large mountain, and I am by no means a hiker. But it was well worth the climb, and a really good analogy for life and marriage. When one of us would want to give up and just tell everyone we made it to the top, the other one would push that person and encourage them. I often think of that now. It works the same way still! And actually, since I have been packing, I found a bunch of pictures from when we made it to the top and old journal entries about the first time I ever saw Little Creek. I wrote, "I could totally get used to this place." And sure enough, it is a place we go to whenever we visit Utah, and tell our kids the wonderful story about what took place at the top. Someday we will climb it again with our kids. I am looking forward to that day.

Okay, so that was a long description. Now I tag Amber M, Lindsey Turnbaugh, Crystal Baker, and Amber Allen.

Snakes

What is it with little boys and snakes? Tytan caught this baby one all by himself. He kept it in a shoebox for most of the day, looking at it every five minutes. And then at night he released it, so it could go back to it's mommy. It even escaped from it's shoebox, Ty found it, caught it, and put it back. It took all my acting skills to pretend that I liked the snake, and that the reason I didn't want to hold it was not because I was scared..but because I didn't want to get my hands dirty. Also, has anyone noticed how many days are left on my little baby counter? Wow!

Ode to Great Clips

I will admit, I was a haircut snob. I would NEVER even THINK of getting my haircut at Great Clips. My hair was too precious and dear to me to let anyone who didn't go through the most vigorous and prestigious training, to even think of cutting it. Well, I am here to tell you that I have changed my views. Today I did the unthinkable. I got my hair cut at Great Clips. Not only that, but I got it cut by a 50 year old man, covered in tattoos, who smelt of smoke and talked about sports and cars. I didn't get offered a diet coke, and he didn't even blow it completely dry when it was done. He cut it about an inch shorter then I wanted....and GAVE ME BANGS! BUT...I LOVE IT!!! I really do. He did such a good job. My hair feels lighter, healthier, and it styles amazingly! And did it cost $50, like a haircut at a salon would cost? NO..it cost $12. Amazing. I am happy that I stepped outside of my comfort zone...WAY outside. And I feel like a new woman!

Before & After

In all actuality, it is not that big of a difference. But...just enough to make me feel great! And if you saw how BIG I am getting, you would know every little thing helps.

Update

Some of you have been asking about our move. It is nothing too exciting. We are just moving five minutes away to a bigger and newer apartment. It will be 3 bedrooms and about 1300 sq feet. It is only 5 years old, as opposed to where we are now which is more like 10 years old. We are going to be living on the bottom floor, but our neighbors who live on top of us have their stairs inside their apartment. This way, it looks more like town homes, and we get to have a storage closet from the space under their stairs. That is a nice feature, plus we will have an extra room! Also, an extra bathroom (although I am not looking forward to having TWO bathrooms to clean). And another exciting feature is a pantry. So it is just a little step up for us. We are all about baby steps. Our plan is to move October 11th. So, for the first time, I am actually HOPING this baby doesn't come early.

Packing

Is it just me, or does packing really stink? Ugh...it is the worst. It feels like my house is a total mess, but I can't do anything about it because I am trying to get it all organized and packed. Thanks to everyone who offered advice on where to get boxes. We are lucky that someone who just moved out of our ward donated a TON of boxes to us. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do about breakables? When we moved from Idaho I wrapped the breakables in newspaper...and tons of stuff broke. So this time I am going to maybe try bubble wrap..but it is a little pricey. Any other ideas?

The Calm before the Baby

There has been a sense of calm around our house. I have recently started taking notice of it, and while it is very nice...it is also somewhat alarming. What I mean is, things have gotten a lot easier for me. My boys are potty trained. They sleep through the night. They get themselves dressed, shoes included. They brush their own teeth. They clean up their toys (when I make them). They ask to help me make dinner, clean the bathroom, fold clothes. They play with each other and keep each other entertained. All the sudden I am not having to hurry and take a shower so that I am not worrying about them the whole time. I can take a long shower while they are doing puzzles, or watching Dora. I don't have to change 12 diapers a day, and make three trips out to the dumpster. I don't have to wake up in the night (except I do have a baby resting on my bladder and that keeps me up quite a bit). We can plan day trips to pretty much anywhere and I don't have to worry about packing a diaper bag, or if they will have meltdowns, need to eat, need to sleep etc. My point is things are, well I wouldn't say easy, but different then they are when you have a baby. When I had Tanner, Tytan was just 20 months old...so I went from one baby to two! Now, I have no more babies and I am just a little worried about the transition this time. So I am mentally trying to prepare myself. Although, if I were not pregnant, and things were this calm around here...I might go into some sort of depression. So I am so thankful that a baby will be coming to interrupt our daily schedule, and become a part of things. I am thankful that I will have two helpful boys, and that she will be lucky to come into a family of brothers. It is just a little eerie. Like when you go outside before a big storm and things are oddly calm and still. That is how our house is...except we are very excited for the impending "storm".

This is what I woke up to this morning. The boys laying together in Tanner's bed, which he is too big for now and we just got some bunk beds for their room in our new apartment. They layed and played together for a good 15 minutes.

33 weeks pregnant. Getting BIG!

Labor Day Weekend

We had a nice Labor Day weekend. We went miniature golfing at Colorado Mills. They have an indoor glow in the dark mini golf course. It was really fun! We also went to the driving range and hit some balls. Are you sensing a theme here? And then we went to our ward party and had a BBQ and played at the park. It was a relaxing weekend! For those of you who don't know, we are moving to a new apartment right before the baby is born. Bigger, newer...just better! So this was the last little relaxing weekend, and now I am going to be packing...little by little, every day until October! Does anybody have any good ideas on where to find boxes?
